I’ve only looked at suburbs within 50km of Sydney 2000, and the data is as at 13 February 2022. Things change quite rapidly so don’t expect these to be exactly the same when you’re reading this!
Data has been sourced from SmartPropertyInvestment.com.au which is one excellent resource for the latest suburb level property data, and FreeMapTools.com for the a list of suburbs that were within 50km to the Sydney 2000.
Looking at the data, the most expensive houses within 50km to Sydney CBD can be found at Point Piper with a median value at a whopping $10.2m. This is surpassed by the most expensive units which can be found in Barangaroo with a median value at a huge $12.9m. It looks like the value of the most luxurious apartments in Barangaroo look to be edging higher than Australia’s most expensive suburb Point Piper.
The most affordable houses can be found the furthest away from Sydney CBD and nabbed for between $400-500k in Menangle Park, Austral and Emerton. This is a steal compared to the median Sydney house price of $1.6m. If you’d rather be closer to the city and don’t mind an apartment, Lakemba and Wiley Park stand out with apartments at a median value of $380-390k and only being within 15km from the CBD!
